An Accra Circuit Court convicted three mobile money agents to three years each for stealing their employers' GHS34,106 and using it for soccer betting.

Aaron Anku, Joseph Doe, and Evans Owusu were charged with Conspiracy to Commit Theft and three counts of Theft.

Anku is claimed to have misappropriated GHS15, 130 in cash, while Doe and Owusu misappropriated GHS12, 200 and GHS 6,280, respectively.

The three defendants have entered pleas of guilty to the allegations brought against them.

The accused have since been repaid GHC1,000 apiece, according to police, and the money has been held for evidence.

Mrs. Christina Cann, who presided over the court, found them guilty on their own plea.

The accused persons were ordered by the Trial Judge to repay the money they had embezzled to the plaintiff, Nathaniel Kweku Dzah, CEO of NK Dzah Ventures.

Chief Inspector Martin Acheampong, prosecuting, stated that the defendants, now convicted, were employees of the complainant.
